70% of lost items cannot be returned because there is no owner identification on the lost property. Law enforcement authorities, Police, Transit authorities and Lost property offices are obliged by law to try and contact the owner. Our focus group research has shown that most private finders are also VERY enthusiastic about returning the item but are deterred by the time and effort involved.

Our system is the simplest, surest, and fastest method to connect owner and finder. Not only do we make it simple for a finder to contact the owner, we encourage them to do so by rewarding them with a complimentary pack of Yellowtags, free of charge.

Extraordinary find in 2006

Richard Mercer - Red sea dive

Richard lives in Shrewsbury, Shropshire he made a diving trip to Cuba in summer 2006, taking with him his Olympus mju300 digital camera and Olympus waterproof housing. During the trip Richard dropped his camera encased in its waterproof housing to the seabed but was unable to dive and retrieve it. Thinking the camera was lost forever Richard returned to Shropshire with lots of fond memories but no pictures! During October Richard received the following message via Yellowtag.

"Hi There
We have just come back from a trip to Cuba where I found something you may have lost overboard or on a scuba dive. It is still working and available for reclaiming if you would like to contact me."

Alistair

Richard contacted Alistair to make arrangements for the return of his camera: "It turned out that Alistair had found the camera still on the seabed and it worked perfectly first time". The camera and the Olympus waterproof housing are in perfect working order despite resting on the seabed for three months.

"Talk about a small world, Alistair works for BSAC (British Sub Aqua Club) at Ellesmere Port in Cheshire and I work in Cheshire too about 30 miles away! I'm also a member of BSAC".

Rewarded for finding digital camera

We found a digital camera whilst walking on Scafell Pike in the Lake District. It belonged to a couple of walkers who had yellow-tagged it. We got in touch through Yellowtag and sent it back through the post. They reimbursed us the postage although we didn't ask them to!

Whilst the camera was ruined as it had been out in the elements for a long time, they were able to recover their pictures from the memory card, for which they were very grateful.
